Winter Wedding Photography: Brett Harkness workshop

For the past couple of years I have admired the work of Bury based photographer, Brett Harkness, who specialises in Wedding Photography amongst other commercial projects. I have followed his work on both his website & social media, purchased his Wedding training downloads, and watched posts crop up from other photographers across the UK that have attended his workshops. I longed to attend a workshop myself - but between most of them being held up north, and my own parenting commitments, I was unable to work it out...

Vintage on the green

Over the weekend I attended yet another beautiful event "Vintage on the Green" in Wisborough Green, West Sussex which was extremely well organised by Lucy and her amazing team at Love Lane Vintage HQ (well done all!). I went along with Max for a good mooch around, a spot of lunch, which Max managed to scoff before I could even get my camera ready... the sausage rolls were so scrummy, and to visit all of the wonderful friendly sellers who were selling an array of country & home interiors, flowers, plats and garden items, textiles, French antiques, collectibles and hand made treats.

Bit of Gardening

Summer seemed to have been put on pause earlier this week in Sussex after a good few days of heavy rain, flash floods and thunderstorms – Not ideal for the 6 weeks school summer holidays and in the past I’ve always felt sad when these days come (although Duvet days, cake baking and crafts did make Max quite happy!)...

Millie & Max visit Ponden Hall

This year’s Christmas break found Millie & Max residing in the Peat House of Ponden Hall, a beautiful picturesque property that has connections to the Bronte Sisters & Wuthering Heights. It’s said that, in the room currently to my left as I type this, is a tiny single-paned window that, according to local tradition, is the window where Cathy’s ghost memorably scratched furiously at the glass, trying to get in. “I muttered, knocking my knuckles through the glass, and stretching an arm out to seize the importunate branch; instead of which, my fingers closed on the fingers of a little, ice-cold hand!” Just hours after our arrival the night started to fall and the magic of Christmas came to life with snowfall, too cold for me to venture out at night I waited ’til sunrise to capture the stunning surroundings of the moors.
