Becky & Neil – Park House & South Lodge
In May I had the pleasure of photographing the wedding of a wonderful couple from Horsham, Becky & Neil. I was really looking forward to shooting my first summer wedding of the season – but as can sometimes happen, our British weather was doing it’s best to dampen the mood!
Rain always adds a certain friction to a wedding, long flowing dresses and wet muddy conditions don’t mix well! As the photographer you have to be able to deal with the differing conditions but a big concern is how the couple will react to it. I always bring a stash of umbrellas to weddings (just in case!) to deal with the rain but the added anxiety can make for tense faces and forced smiles!
With Becky & Neil however, I needn’t have worried. Their fun and laid back approach for their day really made a difference. Bridal prep took place in one of the stunning suites at Cisswood House before heading off to the Horsham registrar’s office at Park House.
We managed to get a few photos in the grounds of Park House between the showers but decided to head to South Lodge a little earlier than expected. The change in plan was no problem for South Lodge – and my stunning couple were greeted with a glass of bubbly and the welcoming face of Marc Kent, Toastmaster extraordinaire.
As the day progressed, the champagne flowed, the blue skies returned and the partying went on long into the night!
It was a pleasure to be a part of Becky & Neil’s wedding day… Here is a preview selection to enjoy…
