This year’s Christmas break found Millie & Max residing in the Peat House of Ponden Hall, a beautiful picturesque property that has connections to the Bronte Sisters & Wuthering Heights. It’s said that, in the room currently to my left as I type this, is a tiny single-paned window that, according to local tradition, is the window where Cathy’s ghost memorably scratched furiously at the glass, trying to get in. “I muttered, knocking my knuckles through the glass, and stretching an arm out to seize the importunate branch; instead of which, my fingers closed on the fingers of a little, ice-cold hand!”
Just hours after our arrival the night started to fall and the magic of Christmas came to life with snowfall, too cold for me to venture out at night I waited ’til sunrise to capture the stunning surroundings of the moors.
